DOXA UPDATE – APRIL 2018

December 10, 2024

Hello everyone, Welcome back to Monday. Let’s start the day with enthusiasm! To kick things off, we’re bringing you the latest updates from the world of social media. So, what’s new? Let’s take a look at the details below.

  • LinkedIn
Our first update comes from LinkedIn. This professional social networking platform has introduced several new features for its website. One of the most notable updates is the redesigned profile section. This new look now includes details such as how many times your profile has been viewed, who has seen your profile, and notifications regarding career interests. Additionally, the experience section has been simplified and condensed, making it more user-friendly. These updates are designed to enhance the user experience, allowing for easier navigation and a smoother browsing experience on LinkedIn profiles. But that’s not all! LinkedIn has also made messaging more fun by adding GIF support. However, the exact timeline for when this feature will be available to all users has not yet been confirmed, as LinkedIn is still preparing it. So, let’s stay tuned.
  • Instagram
In its continuous effort to improve user satisfaction, Instagram has rolled out several updates. A few weeks ago, they introduced a new portrait-focused photo feature, which can be used for both photos and videos. If you love taking photos with a blurred background effect, now you can try it out on Instagram. But don’t forget to update the app to the latest version for access to this feature.Additionally, Instagram is preparing two more exciting features: Nametag and Q&A Stickers. The Nametag feature will allow users to create a unique image that can be scanned using the Instagram Stories camera, making it easier for users to follow each other, especially for those promoting their accounts. The Q&A Sticker will allow users to ask questions to others, with responses that can be saved for future reference. However, both of these features are still in the preparation stage, and it’s unclear when they will be available.
  • Facebook
As the number of fake accounts, hoaxes, and hate speech continues to rise, Facebook is tightening its regulations to ensure a safer and more responsible platform. Page admins will now be required to undergo verification before managing fan pages. Facebook will also be monitoring the content and posts made by admins to ensure that everything remains in compliance with their policies.Furthermore, Facebook plans to disable the feature that allows users to search for others using their phone numbers or email addresses. This change is being made to prevent malicious users from exploiting this function to spread private information publicly. Lastly, Facebook is also testing a new feature that will allow users to unsend messages. This feature, currently in the testing phase, would allow users to retract messages they’ve sent mistakenly. While there is no confirmed release date yet, we’ll have to wait for further updates from Facebook.

That’s all for today’s social media updates. Don’t forget to share this on your social platforms. And make sure to follow our social media and blog for more up-to-date information. See you next time!
